ArcelorMittal at Bauforumstahl conference in Berlin

On December 8, at the Deutsches Architektur Zentrum, Berlin, Bauforumstahl e. V. organized a conference under the theme of steel for industrial and commercial buildings construction. Jérôme Guth from ArcelorMittal spoke on innovative steels for building envelopes.

The most frequent uses of steel in buildings are for the structure & envelopes of industrial, logistic and commercial buildings.  With around 60 % share, steel has the largest part of the construction volume in non-residential construction.

Today, sustainable construction requirements create for all construction stakeholders new challenges.  With a selection of related topics, the iForum industrial construction which took place in Berlin dealt with some of the essential elements from design, planning & construction processes for industrial and commercial buildings.

The event was attended by planners, architects and engineers as well as construction companies.

Jerome Guth, business development manager construction of ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products, spoke on innovative steels for the building envelopes. He introduced new substrates and coatings offering improved aesthetics, sustainability and performances. Most of these products have already obtained European recognition such as the ECCA Premium® label.
